Self Service Punch Lockout
This setting allows you to specify that any employee clocking into the
system using the Self Service module must be scheduled in order for the
punch to be accepted.
User Rights
The "Employee"
user type is pre-configured with the necessary permissions for use with
this option. When using a "Customized" user type, ensure that
the necessary permissions are specified.
Under the Self
Rights section of the Time Card
permissions, ensure that the "Clock In/Out" permission is enabled.
The "Punch Edit" permission should not
be enabled.

Schedule Settings
The employee must be assigned
to a schedule. The allowed punch period will be the schedule start/end
times, in conjunction with the "Allowed Period" specified in
the Clock Settings section of
the Schedule Rule that the schedule is assigned to.
If the employee is not
scheduled to work on any given day, the system will prevent them from
entering a punch.
Error Notification Text
The error that is displayed
when an employee's unscheduled punch is rejected is customizable at a
company level.
Click
on the main "Admin" navigation tab, and then on the Settings
link located under the System Tools
section of the screen.
Click
on the Edit link located under the
System Setup header.
Browse
to the Self Service Settings section
of the screen. Enter the desired error message into the "Schedule
Self Service Punch Lockout Error Text" field. The field is limited
to a maximum of 50 characters. The default error is "You are unable
to punch outside of a schedule."
Click
on the [SAVE SETTINGS] icon located in either the upper or lower right-hand
corners of the screen.
