Clock Options

The next screen in the Setup Wizard asks you "Did you purchase a clock with TimeForce?" If yes, the Wizard will walk you through creating the time clock profiles that the TimeForce system requires in order to communicate with the clock. Click on the  icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to create time clock profiles. Click on  to skip the clock setup section (continue to Add Company Information). Click on the  icon to save your progress and exit the Setup Wizard.

Time Clock Profiles

The third screen in the Setup Wizard is the "Time Clock Profiles" screen. In order for the TimeForce system to be able to communicate with your clock, a Time Clock Profile must exist in the system for each clock that you wish to download punches from.

The "Activation Key Report" that you received with your shipping invoice contains a list of each time clock that you purchased.

The "Time Clock Profiles" screen is broken up into two sections. The section at the top of the screen with a blue header is where clock profile information is entered. The section located directly below with a grey header displays the clock profiles that have already been entered into the system.

  1. Enter the Clock ID. This ID is assigned in the memory of the clock itself. When a clock is purchased from Qqest, the clock ID is set to the default ID of "1." Once you have successfully connected to your time clock, the ID can be customized as desired.

  2. Select the clock Model from the drop-down menu. If you are unsure of what clock model you purchased, consult the product list in the "Activation Key Report."

  3. Enter a clock Description. This setting is not used for communications purposes, but is a naming convention intended to assist you in keeping track of the clock profiles in your system.

  4. In the Connection Method drop-down menu, select the appropriate communications method from the list (as in "Serial Clock," "Modem Clock," "Ethernet Clock," etc.). The "Activation Key Report" can assist you in determining the connection method.

  5. The Connection # field is where you enter specific connection information, based on the "Connection Method" specified above.

    • If your clock is an "Ethernet Clock," the system must know the unique IP Address assigned to the clock.

    • If your clock is a "Modem Clock," you must enter the unique Phone Number at which the time clock can be reached.

    • If your clock is a "Serial Clock," specify which Com Port the clock is attached to, or select "Auto Detect."

  6. Click on the  icon located to the right of the "Connection #" field to save the time clock profile.

Once a clock profile has been entered into the system, it appears under the grey header at the bottom of the screen. To remove a clock profile from the system, click on the  icon. You may also edit an existing clock profile, should a change be needed. Edit the desired field and click on the [UPDATE] icon.

Create a time clock profile for each clock that you would like the TimeForce system to communicate with. Once you have completed the profile setup, click on the  icon to continue to the next setup step.
Note:
Additional clock profiles can be created once you exit the Setup Wizard and log into the TimeForce system normally.

If you need to return to the previous screen at any time, click on the  icon. Click on the  icon to save your progress and exit the Setup Wizard.
